What is the Alcohol Prevention Project (APP): The Alcohol Prevention Project is evidence based and modeled after SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework Model (commonly reffered to as just the SPF Model), which uses a 5-step planning process to guide the selection, implementation and evaluation of effective, culturally appropriate, and sustainable prevention activities.
The project operates statewide through funding from Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Disabilities. Our goal countywide with this funding is to reduce the age at which youth first choose to drink alcohol. We implement three strategies, two environmental and one individual, to achieve this goal.
